First Lady’s Challenge.. Accepted!
Last week I was challenged by St. Xavier University Shannon Center….

The #GimmeFive challenge was started by First Lady Michelle Obama… “Join in the #GimmeFive challenge and share five things you do to lead a healthy life!”
Here I go!
5 things I do to lead a healthy life.
- I drink water. ALOT of it. (Although maybe not enough by the current state of my dry skin this winter, yikes!)
I really try and limit juice, soft drinks and sports drinks and just stick to water. - I exercise (AKA Run!) Exercise has always and will always be my saving grace when it comes to managing my stress level and busy life. I aim for 10-13,000 steps a day.
- I go grocery shopping weekly and plan my meals.
This is the only way I can stay away from fast foods and stay on a budget food wise. I have a dry erase board where I try to plan on the meals for my family for the week. Really helps me to stay on track. - I bring healthy snacks to nibble on throughout the day. Produce and protein makes the best snacks!

Apple and peanut butter
Greek yogurt with berries. - I practice my favorite mantra, Everything in Moderation!
Too much of anything isn’t good for us. I really try and eat healthy and wholesome when I can, but also allow myself to enjoy my favorite foods and drinks in moderation. Life is too short to be beating ourselves up over having a few cookies or doing out to dinner on the weekends!
