I’m baaaaaaack!!!!
Welcome back!
It’s been a while since I posted (since August 31st!!), mostly due to my crazy busy life, (well 99% due to my crazy busy life) but also because my site was down the last week and a half.
Here are some of the comings and goings on my past 6 weeks. (SIX WEEKS since my last post? SHEESH).
– I started teaching Nutrition in the Life Cycle at St. Xavier University. Way cool but lots of work for me in my first semester teaching!
– Organized the Run to the Pub at Fat Tommys.. had about 30 show up for a hot and sweaty run! (GREAT salad there btw!)
– Celebrated my mom, husbands, and best friends hubbies birthdays over the Labor Day weekend along with my best friend’s sisters wedding in Geneva. Those were fun weekends!
-Launched the 2nd annual St. Damian Dash 5K training program and the 12th Annual St. Damian Kids running camp on Monday nights. Check out the kids video here recounting my “5 Rules of Running Camp”!
– Started the Run to the Pub Speed Series at Blarney Stone in Oak Forest for 4 weeks to help the Run to the Pubbers bring down mile times for the SXU Cougar 5K and the Damian Dash 5K! (Indian Runs, quarter mile repeats galore)!

– Found out Devine Nutrition was 1 of 25 finalists in the Wells Fargo Works Contest! Despite not being picked to be a grand prize winner, I was in the top 25 out of 4,200 applications! What an honor!! I want to thank everyone who helped to vote to get my application seen!

– Launched the 8 Week Weight Loss class at SXU, opening up two sections with a total of 35 participants. Just had our Mariano’s grocery store tour last week and we get a visit from the Miejer RD Maribel for a cooking demo tonight! (I love love love teaching this class.)
– Sponsored a booth at the SXU Cougar 5K (and ran!) the race along with 25 of my fellow R2P runners. Our group had 4 runners place (including me, 3rd in age group, woo hoo) and 12 runners PR! (Personal Record). Was a great day!
– I was featured in the Living Oak Forest blog, accounting my love of running growing up in Oak Forest and how it got me to be where I am today. Read the post here! (This was a fantastic time for my website to go down FYI).
– Not to be outdone, we had 26 runners at the Damian Dash where we had 11 age group awards (I got 2nd this time around!), and numerous PR’s!
-Besides my site going off kilter this month, my “mom van” went down for the count. That made for a great Monday morning, let me tell you!

– Next up, Chicago Marathon Weekend! Run to the Pub was in charge of Gatorade operations on the North side of Archer at mile 21 this year. We were able to rangle 65 people to volunteer with us! Congrats to everyone who ran this hot year but especially our Run to the Pub crew!
And let’s not forgot my 4 kids who keep me hopping in between all of these “work” events!
With work, Connor’s million 8th grade activities and sports activities, Justin and Emily’s scouting events, and my tazmanian devil two year old Addison… let’s just say.. I’ve kept busy. (Where is my husband you say? He would be in school full time completing his BS in Fire Protection Engineering along with working full time in North Brook).
What’s yup next? Rest? HAHAHAHA. Not so much!
This week starts the Run to the Pub Fall Series at Coach’s Corner! For more details and to register go to:
This Saturday, I’m off to Detroit with my running buddies to check off state #19 in my quest to run a race in all 50 states. We will be doing the international half crossing from Detriot into Canada. This is my first half marathon since I was pregnant so I’m a little anxious!
Next Thursday starts the 2nd Ragnar race the Run to the Pub is participating in. We start in Chattanooga TN and relay race it 195 miles to Nashville! Follow me on Instagram and the Run to the Pub Facebook page to follow our progress!
Will get back to blogging once I get back from running in Michigan and Tennessee! Look forward to some quick easy recipes to make while you are busy! (If I can do it, You can too!).
I can’t end the post without pictures of my darling kiddos… so here they are all ready for their cousins birthday party.. Super Hero Themed!
